Each work of art and writing is blindly adjudicated, first locally through the more than affiliates of the Alliance, and then nationally by panels of judges comprised of renowned artists, authors, educators and industry experts.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program is the nation’s longest-running, largest, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the most prestigious award for 7th through 12th graders in the U.S. For 86 years Scholastic and the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers have annually given out thousands of awards to the nation’s top young artists and writers.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are among the most prestigious prizes given to junior-high and high-school students in the United States. This year, eight Hebron students—seven from the Upper School and one from the Middle School--won awards for their writing in genres ranging from poetry to personal memoir to an academic essay.

Work that is submitted to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards must be original work created by the student.

Art & Writing Winners

If a submitted work is copied from another artist or writer or is plagiarized, the work will be disqualified from the Scholastic Awards. Work that is submitted to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards must not be plagiarized or violate available software to investigate all art and writing that is considered for Awards.
